Life-Threatening Injuries Resulting from Serious Car Crash

Authorities reported the driver of a vehicle having life-threatening injuries following a serious car crash on the Freya/Green St. Bridge. Police say a vehicle was heading northbound across the bridge when it hit the divider, then another car and then came back into the northbound lane of traffic. The driver of the vehicle that was hit was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries by a private party. The driver of the northbound vehicle had to be cut out of the vehicle by officials and then was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Witnesses told police a passenger from the car in the northbound lane hobbled away from the accident. Officers are looking to speak with this person. The bridge remained closed for several hours as the crash was investigated. Police say they are still investigating and looking into vehicular assault and a possible DUI.
